Happy 30th Birthday, Amanda!

JULY 31, 2020

I hope that even though the world is kind of a mess right now, your birthday is special and memorable. I’m lucky that we get to celebrate it together in person. Thanks for putting up with me all the rest of the time, too. It’s not easy being–for the most part–quarantined in the apartment, but there’s nobody I’d rather spend all that extra time with than you.

Of course, I’m not the only one who wants to wish you the best as you turn 30. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been collecting videos (and other contributions) from all the people who wanted to wish you well and send love your way today!

Anyway, I can’t wait to see what this new decade has in store for you, and I know that there will be plenty of things to celebrate in your 30s. I want to make the most of them all!

Love,

Josh

Here’s one of your favorite Video Night™ videos (according to Dan), who wishes you all the best from him, Lil’ Sammie, and Max Alexandar.

Mama Sue sends her favorite photos of you from good times you had together.

Happy Birthday from my grandparents, who sent these pictures along even though Ving’s wearing the wrong hat.

Gotta balance out my grandpa’s hat faux-pas with a little help from Andy.

Happy Birthday, Amanda!

I am so proud to have gotten to know the lovely young woman you have grown into. I can still remember seeing new Christmas photos of you and your sisters on your uncle’s desk when you were just a little girl. Then I had the honor of working with you at the library when you were older. I cannot believe that time flies faster and faster the older I get.

I hope that you enjoy and embrace your 30s, Sweetheart. I think my 30s and 40s have been my favorite so far. There is less worrying about what others think. You finally figure out that a good boundary between personal time and work time is healthy. Even when you love what you do, it’s good to put it away for a while and just take time to be with family and friends, relax, travel, read and, of course, take care of those fun adult tasks we all have.

Share your knowledge. Make sure to get help when you can, and be aware of where/when you need help. There’s nothing wrong with needing others. It’s not always easy to say that you need help, but people generally like to help and to be asked for their assistance.

Keep an open mind and an open heart. I know you have a loving one. Don’t lose that no matter what the world throws your way. Being spontaneous might not be as easy as you get older but it’s still worthwhile.

Be flexible. Be willing to take risks. Learn the value in a good night’s sleep!

Your future is incredibly bright, Amanda. I look forward to hearing about your future adventures!

Sending lots of love and so many hugs,

Brandee

Happy 30th Birthday, Amanda! Hope you do something special to enjoy the day. We can’t wait until we can celebrate all the birthdays we had to miss this year.

Here are some pictures from Aunt Nadia. She sent a ton more than I could fit in this slideshow, so I chose the most important ones, but we can go through the other ones on our own.
